Introducing our new Higham Cricket Club YouTube channel.
Higham Cricket Club is an amateur village cricket club based in the village of Higham on the outskirts of Barnsley. The club was formed in 1875, competing in its early years in the Darton & District League. By the post-WWII period, the club was playing in the Huddersfield Central League, of whose Premier Division we became longstanding members.
In 2018, following the disbanding of the Huddersfield Central League, the club made the move into the SYSCL (The Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League (YCSPL) which was created by the merger of the Yorkshire South Premier League and the South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League for the 2021 season.
We now have two senior sides represented in the League, who play on Saturdays. We also have a team representing us in the Barnsley & District Cricket League on Sundays. This broad depth of representation has helped the club to attract new players, as we are playing much more and in our local area.
